Requirements:

• An LLB degree or Diploma Legum as required by section 9(1)(b) of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1994 (Act 32 of 1944) and at least seven years post-university experience in law.
• Advocates and attorneys who apply for posts of Regional Magistrate should, together with their application documents, submit a recent certificate of good standing from their respective controling bodies.
• Duties:
  Adjudication of criminal matters in the Regional Court.
